Shropshire businessman combines marketing experience and passion for sailing to develop series of maritime websites
The MD of a Shropshire marketing and e-business solutions provider has applied 40 years of sailing experience and knowledge to a series of maritime websites developed by his company.
Peter Riches of Shrewsbury based BeVivid Ltd, is now looking to extend the service based on the four recently constructed sites, which cover a number of aspects related to sailing supplies, marine and water bound leisure activities.
They are: www.c-fury.com - the c-fury™, a unique, rigid-inflatable, hydrofoil catamaran craft; www.sailthe7seas.co.uk - a yacht-for-charter opportunity; www.ratseysails.co.uk - a website for Ratsey and Lapthorn, the most famous hand-made sails company in the UK; and www.cartagenamarina.es - providing all the information yacht owners and sailing enthusiasts require about the port of Cartagena, in Spain’s Costa Cálida.
Commenting on their own website, Simon Mcloughlin, MD at MakMarine Ltd, the company behind the development of c-fury, said: "BeVivid was recommended to me by a business contact. I found them very simple to deal with, as enthusiastic as I am about my product, focussed on getting the complete project right from start to finish and determined to deliver on time and to cost - a very refreshing experience!
"A good website is not as simple as it might appear at first – Peter and his team understood what was required and helped us through the process. His marine experience certainly paid dividends especially in the detail. We’re hoping that c- fury will carve out a niche in the market and so far customer feedback about the product and the website has been very positive.”
Mr Riches, who holds a Royal Yachting Association Yachtmaster Offshore certificate and was a professional yacht skipper for three years, has sailed extensively throughout the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic. He said: “Although the top end of the market is doing well the basic industry is struggling, so we hope these websites will result in successful marketing tools for our clients. Located in the heart of Shropshire and thus quite far from the sea, we’ve never previously offered our services to maritime based companies, but it’s an area in which BeVivid is now actively seeking potential new business.”
